Greta and Antonietta, the founders of Dolce Amaro, approached me to give their artisanal biscuit range a refined packaging makeover. Dolce Amaro is known for crafting elegant sweet and savoury treats using premium, carefully sourced ingredients. However, their previous packaging didn’t reflect the quality of the product — meaning many potential stockists were overlooking them.
The brief was to create packaging that conveyed both quality and sophistication, while standing out with a distinctive shelf presence.
For the sweet biscuit range, I designed an elegant, ingredient-inspired pattern featuring pistachios, walnuts, hazelnuts, wheat, and cocoa flowers. These illustrations were paired with rich, vibrant colours and accented with subtle touches of gold for a premium finish. I also refined the logo, introducing an earthy brown tone to better align with the natural ingredients and complement the new packaging.
For the savoury biscuit range, Greta and Antonietta wanted a design that celebrated Ireland’s natural beauty. Drawing inspiration from Dublin’s iconic Ha’penny Bridge, the countryside, dramatic cliffs, and coastal landscapes, I created detailed illustrations that brought a sense of place and authenticity to the range. These were paired with a bright but refined colour palette, understated gold accents, and the updated logo to ensure a cohesive brand identity.
Since the rebrand, Dolce Amaro has attracted the attention of major distributors such as Lilliput Trading, and their biscuits are now being stocked in an increasing number of shops. The new packaging not only elevates the brand’s presence but also tells a story of craftsmanship, heritage, and quality.
